For all our programmes, emlyon business school offers you the means and the environment to make your learning experience the best one possible - with a distinct... focus on entrepreneurship. Each of our English-taught programmes offers you a dynamic and resolutely international study environment, fully connected to today’s business world. Pick the programme that suits your career goals best, and click on the link to explore it in more detail.
Choose our programme because it is small and focused. We decided to keep the programme small (around 20 students) so that you can benefit from two major advantages. First, limiting the programme to a human size allows more and better interactions. Everything here is one-to-one, face-to-face. You will meet, interact, and work closely with faculty members and fellow PhDs on a daily basis. We see this as an essential asset to your scholarly development. Second, the small size is a consequence of our willingness to remain focused. We don"t do finance, we don"t do marketing, but only management and entrepreneurship. The advantage is that each and every student and faculty member you"ll talk to shares the very same research interests that brought you here.
Choose to come here because we"re truly international, and that"s interesting and fun! Professors are from Australia, Canada, England, Finland, France, Spain, Sweden, Tunisia, USA, etc. Current students come from 16 different countries and four continents, and no country has more than 13% students. Students are from Argentina, Brazil, China (x3), France (x3), Germany (x2), Greece, Ireland, Italy, Lebanon, Morocco, South Korea, Syria, Thailand, Tunisia, Ukraine, USA (x2) and Zimbabwe. Remember that the programme is entirely delivered in English, and knowledge of French is not required.
In June 2017, emlyon business school and the University of South Carolina (Darla Moore School of Business) signed an agreement to create a Dual Degree Doctoral Program in Business Administration. This program represents a very unique and exceptional opportunity to participate in a doctoral program that leverages exceptional faculty from two prominent universities, and also allows a student to receive a doctoral degree from both institutions.
Choose our PhD programme because the structure of the curriculum has been carefully designed to ensure you will be trained as a first-quality scholar. At the end of the four years, you will be an accomplished researcher, one of the best specialists in your area. You will have learned the tricks of writing articles for top-tier journals. In addition, you will have been trained in designing and delivering courses, both at undergraduate, graduate, and executive levels. The different courses and seminars are delivered by our recognized faculty. We routinely bring in the best specialists in the world to give seminars and lectures.

The Work & Organizations academic cluster addresses the transformation of organizations and work. Directed by Fabienne Autier, its mission is to produce data and to perform analysis and experiments –insidecompanies – and to provide operational analytical frameworks for the participants of emlyon programs and indeed, all emlyon stakeholders, to enable them to take full advantage of these transformations.
The Lifestyle & Consumption cluster’s mission is to make an academic contribution, to produce actionable knowledge and to inform EMLYON stakeholders about issues related to lifestyles and consumption patterns. Its goal is also toreveal the deep transformations that occur but generally go unnoticed, and to help organizations, public agencies and associations to look beyond the apparent reality of day-to-day life. The Entrepreneurship and Growth cluster, directed by Michel Coster, aims to break new ground in ‘Business Mediation’ i.e. to connect the scientific and business worlds and to support all emlyon activities that facilitate the evolution of institutions that ‘resist’ these changes. To achieve this goal, the Entrepreneurship and Growth cluster brings together and draws upon the expertise of international research centers of excellence, innovative training programs, an incubator/accelerator, business networks and institutions, as well as an international event.
emlyon business school has exceptionally strong links with the world around it. As such, it is able to produce new knowledge and quickly transfer this knowledge to the School"s programme participants and businesses. emlyon business school has introduced seven academic Chairs, reflecting the quality of its links with the business world and offering tax incentives for donor organisations. These Chairs are responsible for developing multi-year research programmes.
As well as conducting research within the school"s Research Centres, emlyon"s professors also carry out their own work in a range of traditional disciplines, such as marketing, finance, accounting, information systems and strategy. emlyon business school has a secondary mission: to support research activities in a wide range of disciplines.
