Welcome to ESIEA, the Graduate School that provides not only high level engineering training but also develops the personal abilities of our students, giving them life skills that make all the difference!
ESIEA, recognised by the State, authorised by the CTI (a government body for quality assurance in graduate engineering schools) and a member of CGE (Conférence des Grandes Ecoles), has ...built its reputation on transferring knowledge, know-how and life skills to its future graduates, enabling them to enter their first position swiftly and to develop their career in a continuously changing world.
We are proud of the quality and diversity of our 7,800 graduates’ career paths and this confirms that our school is firmly in touch with reality.
The Alumni, who have been owners of the school since 1986, are involved with the students in different years, enabling them to benefit from their expertise, experience and their professional networks.
Our ambition is to train engineers as designers, developers, system and application integrators by combining coursework in IT, electronics and automated systems. They know how to design, to model and to simulate a process seen in numerous fields with the use of new technologies e.g. designing a drone, safeguarding a computer network, carrying out medical imaging, setting up interbank communication systems, to name but a few.
Given the broad training on offer, they also have the opportunity to acquire solid technical skills in one of the research fields within the school or to expand their skills by working in conjunction with our academic partners in France or abroad. Whether it be through the courses taught, the teamwork on practical projects or humanitarian, cultural or sporting activities, our students find the means to stimulate their creativity, and to develop their taste for innovation, their capacity to adapt and their sense of communication. The wide range of possibilities, the freedom of choice and proximity to permanent teaching and research staff help students to build their own paths, making them unique ESIEA engineers.
ESIEA works in synergy with its scientific and economic environment, and regularly adapts its courses and teaching methods to include more input from businesses and develop opportunities for its students and graduates.
With a wide and strong network, ESIEA trains creative, adaptable, innovative, internationally oriented and open to entrepreneurship engineers.
As our teaching is mostly done in French, ESIEA requires a B2 level in French (DELF or DALF) for all incoming students taking their course work in French in one of our schools.
In order to help students improve their language skills even more during their stay in France, we offer French Language modules (FLE: 2 ECTS per semester) with a particular stress on scientific French (FOS = Français Objectif Scientifique).
Students studying entirely in English at ESIEA or coming for an internship can also benefit from these French courses (FLE). The FLE modules include teaching about French civilisation.
For both incoming or outgoing mobility, the school provides its partners with all necessary information regarding ECTS credit transfer, allowing students to get their validated credits recognised for an internship or an exchange semester.
ESIEA delivers study transcripts in English to their partner schools indicating the modules the student attended according to his/ her learning agreement, number of ECTS and corresponding mark.
For incoming students doing an internship in one of our research laboratories, the tutor is in regular contact with the tutor in the student’s home university.
It is essential that every student acquire a global understanding of the complementary fields of Digital Sciences and Technologies (Information Technology, Electronics), combined with Personal Skills Training, so that they can comprehend how systems work both from an overall perspective and in detail. Once they have reached this point, students can gradually put together their individual programme of learning, since they have the self-knowledge and information they need to make the choices suited to their profile: strengthening their scientific knowledge or developing managerial skills. Due to the complementary nature of the components of ESIEA"s programme, students will have the skills needed to deal with the diverse demands of the workplace, and lead a fulfilling personal life: curious, aware of the needs of others, and keen to continuously evolve and improve. The structure set up by the school fosters these qualities: they form a firm foundation for a rewarding professional and personal life.
To optimise the employment prospects for its students, ESIEA organises numerous meetings with companies. During their five years on the course, students spend up to 15 months on internships, meet professionals from the corporate world, construct their professional project and can count on help from Alumni.
