ISA Lille researches various areas of agriculture and bioengineering topics, from agribusiness and animal welfare to food processing and soil remediation. Because our lecturer-researchers have their own experience working on international research teams, they know how to help prepare students for work in R&D. Our faculty also provide valuable scientific contributions to the French, European... and global academic community.
In addition to study opportunities, international students may also join our specialized research units for exchange opportunities. Students may either come for a full-time research internship (3 months minimum) or for a directed research project complemented by academic courses. While students work independently, each project is defined in advance and supervised by an experienced ISA professor. Phd candidates at partner universities are also invited to undertake part of their research at ISA Lille. Visiting research students may work in English or in French.
ISA Lille offers programs in Agriculture and Bioengineering, taught in English or French. You may study fundamental life sciences in our undergraduate courses or several comprehensive majors at the graduate level in Agricultural Science, Food Science, Environmental Science and Agricultural Economics and Marketing.
All of our programs combine both theoretical teaching and practical work. Our teaching methods are based on active learning in order to match the reality of the professional sector, allowing our graduates to enter the job market quickly and efficiently. The active learning approach is based on practical work in labs, case studies, industrial projects, internships in companies, field visits and more.
In every ISA program, professional immersions (internships and industrial projects) are compulsory and fully integrated into the curriculum. Thanks to this hands-on approach, you are professionally operational even before graduation from ISA. In addition, our programs include project management and intercultural activities to help you develop your abilities to work in a multicultural team and reinforce interdisciplinary skills. Our diverse course content prepares you for a wide-range of professional opportunities, and working in both English and French means you are ready to take on the global job market.
