The Stockholm School of Economics opened its doors to its first students for more than 100 years ago, in 1909. The Stockholm School of Economics Association was established, of which the members were businessmen and prominent industrial leaders, who took active part in the development and also gave a considerable financial support. With the generous support of the Global Challenges Foundation, the Stockholm School of Economics has launched a new track – Global Challenges. The course is included in the Bachelor program in Business and Economics. Our world is under strain – Sustainable development is the central global challenge of our time. It is critical that we understand how sustainable development can be achieved in practice, on the ground, in all parts of the world. A stable and broad education in business is no longer enough. Consequently, the Bachelor program in Business and Economics at the Stockholm School of Economics has been updated to include a new track called Global Challenges. One program – part of the BSc Business and Economics program will provide tools to understand the challenges that SSE graduates meet in their professional lives, forming the leaders of tomorrow.
