The Dubai Metro is a fast rail network in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The red and green lines are running and the other line is under construction. The first two lines run underground in the city Centre, on the viaducts elsewhere (overhead railways). All trains are fully automated and unmanned, and air conditioning with platform edge doors is installed with the station to achieve this goal. The construction company Aedas designed 45 stations in the subway, two warehouses, and an operation control center. Al Ghurair Investment Group is the builder of the subway.

Dubai Metro Stations:

The first part of the red line covers 10 stations and was opened on September 9, 2009, by the Dubai ruler Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The line was opened to the public on June 6 on the morning of September 10 (UTC 04:00). The Dubai Metro is the first city train network in the Arabian Peninsula, the second in the Arab world (after Cairo Metro), and the third (if the ground-level limited-service Baghdad Metro). In April 2015, a major expansion of the red line was announced to increase the 15km track and extend it from Ibn Battuta to the 2020 World Expo site.  The expansion added 7 subway stations.

In the first two days of operation, more than 110,000 people (about 10% of Dubai’s population) used the subway. From September 9, 2009, to February 9, 2010, the Dubai Metro transported 10 million passengers, 11 of which were on the red line. Atkins, an engineering consultancy, provided comprehensive multidisciplinary design and management of the civil works of the Dubai Metro. Until 2016, the Dubai Metro was the world’s longest unmanned subway network with a length of 75 kilometers (47 miles) and was recognized by the Guinness World Records in 2012. However, the total length of the route has since been surpassed by the fully automated unmanned Vancouver light rail train and the Singapore MRT. Despite this, the red line is 52.1 km (32.4 miles) and remains the world’s longest driverless single subway line.
