A Police Clearance Certificate (PCC), which is also known as a “Good Conduct Certificate,” is proof of a person’s criminal record or a lack of a person’s criminal record in the state in which they live. In the UAE, certificates were issued by police departments throughout the UAE, stating that the person had not been charged or had any criminal case. How to apply? The PCC applies to applicants who currently reside in the UAE or are no longer residents of the UAE. You can apply for a certificate online through the Ministry of the Interior website and its smartphone application MOI UAE on iTunes and Google Play. You can also visit one of the MOI service centers, complete the application form, and pay the application fee through an electronic payment card before finalizing the document. In Dubai, the service is also available through the Dubai Police Department’s website or the Dubai Police Smart App on iTunes and Google Play. The following documents are required:
- Valid Emirates ID
- Letter from the beneficiary which will state that he/she did not have any pending criminal convictions
- Recent passport-sized
- Photo Copy of applicant’s passport.
If you are no longer a resident, you will need to obtain a fingerprint card from the country you live in and prove it by the UAE embassy.
A fingerprint card is an official report from the Dubi police department that verifies an individual’s identity based on his biometrics and decimal fingerprint. You can then send your request for PCC online with the following documents to the UAE Ministry of the Interior or Dubai Police:
- UAE embassy approved fingerprint card
- Two recent passport-sized
- Photos Copy of your valid passport
- Copy of your last UAE visa
- Reason for application.
